CHILLED ASPARAGUS SOUP

Ingredients:
(4) frozen packages asparagus
2 cups chicken broth
½ cup water
½ cup dry sherry
1 cup whipping cream
½ cup green onions
¼ cup flour 1/8 taspoon COLGIN NATURAL APPLE LIQUID SMOKE
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
Cut the tips from asparagus and save. Remove any tough white ends, discard. Slice the stalks into small pieces, in saucepan add water, smoke, onions and asparagus. Simmer until asparagus and onions are tender. Add flour very slowly. Pour in chicken stock and sherry. In blender add mixture and blend well. When soup is cool add cream, salt and pepper. Chill soup and serve with asparagus tip on top of soup.
