SPICY BAKED PEARS

Ingredients:
6 medium bartlett pears
¾ cup water
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
2 tablespoon sugar
¼ cup ground ginger
vanilla frozen yogurt (optional)
1/8 teaspoon COLGIN NATURAL PECAN LIQUID SMOKE

Instructions:
Trim bottoms of pears so they will stand upright. Put pears in a shallow 2 quart baking dish. In small bowl, mix water, smoke and juice, pour over pears, sprinkle with sugar. Bake uncovered, at 450F oven for about 30 minutes, reduce oven to 400F baste pears with juice, sprinkle with ginger and continue to bake, basting occasionally, until pears are brown and tender. Serve with small spoons of yogurt. Wash all fruit.
