PINEAPPLE HAM

serves 8

1 ham (Example: shank cook’s ham)
2 to 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
Can of sliced pineapple
1/2 teaspoon of COLGIN NATURAL HICKORY LIQUID SMOKE
Cherry 7UP (You can also use CocaCola)

Instructions:

  Rinse Ham and put the Ham in a casserole dish. Put pineapple slices on ham using toothpicks to hold them in place. Pour remaining pineapple juice over ham. Add Liquid smoke by pouring evenly over ham. Pour cherry 7UP over ham until it come up ½ way up on the sides of the ham. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Cover with foil sealing it up tight. The toothpicks will poke out in place but that is ok. Place a cookie sheet under pan in case of overflow while cooking. Bake in oven at 200F for 10 – 12 hours. I usually put it in the oven just before going to bed and let it cook slow over night. Occassionally take cover off to check the ham and baste it with the juices. Make sure to reseal tightly with foil. When the ham starts pulling away from the bone it is done.
